It’s been a little while since we’ve posted some news here but there has been a lot going on behind the scenes…
Firstly, due to our upcoming European adventures next year Peter McKeown has left the band. Pete has been with us for a little over a year and toured interstate with the band twice, playing at the album launches for ‘ street between us’ in Melbourne and Sydney as well as a number of other shows in Melbourne. We wish Pete all the best and will miss his playing, sense of humour, impeccable sense of style and gorgeous ’60s Hofner Verithin guitar. Keep an eye out for Pete’s band marionettes.
We’re very happy to announce that Dave Olliffe is joining Heligoland as our new guitarist. Look out for some shows in the next few months with the new lineup.
In the meantime, we’ve been busy working on some new songs, a couple of small projects and preparing for some overseas travel. Steve and Karen recently made a guest appearance onstage with our good friends Dandelion Wine at the launch for their super new album ~An Inexact Science~. Karen has also been working on an album project that has been quietly developing for the last twelve months… so while it might appear that not much has been happening it’s actually been a very busy few months. We’re planning to be back playing shows in melbourne very soon, keep an eye on our myspace page and website for upcoming show details.
